When you walk on really cold snow, why do you hear "cracking" sound as you step on the snow? This is grade 12 chem and apparently it has to do with the atomic structure and the bondage force like intermolecular foce and dipole dipole, london etc. | | Your breaking the ice. | Why has American Halloween turned into a day where people feel the need to express their repressed sexuality? Every year it just seems like people have turned this day into trying to dress like a sad prostitute(sexy snow white, bondage gear, devil, bunny etc.) or a pimp, do you think this is due to the sexual repression of American culture?
Do you miss the days when people just wanted to dress up in unique and scary instead getups of buying tacky stripper costumes and "pimp" hats?
What are you going to be for Halloween? | I agree with you. This has become more and more popular among the generation X people. Our society has become more lax with some things such as viewing violence on TV and in movies, yet we have become more conservative with many things considered sexual. I suspect this repression manifests itself on Halloween, the one day where people can dress however they want and excuse it with "it's just a costume."
Notice, however, this theme is MUCH more common among women. I would say there are about the same percentage of sexy male costumes as there have been in the past. Men's desire to see sexy is greater than their desire to look sexy. Women have a great desire to be viewed as sexy but have to repress this more and more with increasing factors such as conservatism trends and gender equality, as well as advancements in technology which enable us to view more and communicate more.
Personally, I prefer to look at Halloween as a celebration of our feelings of fear and being scared. Isn't the horror theme still more popular than the sexy theme on Halloween? Given that spookiness takes precedence, I prefer to dress like a zombie, a monster, a ghoul, or a creepy clown. | Which one of these books would you rather read and why? -Tomorrow, When the War Began by John Marsden | In the TIme of the Butterflies! It is one of my favorite books. It is about four sisters, three of whom work for the underground freedom movement in the D.R. They are heroes, but they are also real characters that you can relate to. The story has action and intrigue, but also romance. It's such a page-turner! Although this book is a work of fiction, it is based on actual events and actual persons, which makes it even harder to put down.
Don't get the movie though, it was terrible and had none of the spirit of the book! | Where do you tink i should go for exotic sex? i have tried everything and i'm waiting to try underwater and bondage as i'm a porn Video filmer but do you know where the is deep enough snow so it will go up to by waist (and hers) please reply | | anywhere in colorado would do. | What do you think of my interpretive dance theatrical play idea? There's a manatee on stage, see he cannot hear from the wall of vagna around him. We have lasers that shoot him down, cut him free, free his soul from the bondage of the past. and then on stage, we have snow that falls that represents love in all its forms. the robot makes a snow angel and we begin to cry. Close curtains!!!!
What do you think, good Idea? I think I will put some sequins in it that will represent the lasers.... | | sounds pretty awesome | Will any of the presidential candidate's apologize for slavery done to Black people in America? Because Black people in America never even got an apology for 400 years of FREE labor, hangings, body mutilation, rapping the woman, the most brutal treatment any human being has ever suffered in the history of people. The worst Holocaust in the world is the Holocaust that happen to Black people in America for 400 years.
When God told Abraham his seed would be in a strange land in servitude for 400 years he didn't expect they would get what's owed to them for "slavery." God knew they would not that is why he said he would judge them. And he is, right now with rain, hell, snow and earthquakes.
"6 And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years."
(Acts 7:6 The King James Version)
"7 And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place. " (Acts 7:6 The King James Version) | | Your first "black president" did already. Pay attention. -Age of Innocence-Edith Wharton | We The Living - Ayn Rand
I like Rand very much. I have read all of her books a couple of times. We The Living is as close as you will get to an autobiography. Rand grew up in the Communist takeover of Russia. She saw her father's business seized and nationalized, and went from society to the poor house. The book is about that period of history, and a young girl knowing that freedom and individuality should be celebrated, not punished. It will also give you a foundation for her stance in other books such as Atlas SHrugged or Fountainhead. | What books to read for summer reading? and any books by John Irving | | either Moby Dick from list A and Invisible Man from list B | Under Grace or Under Law #1? Which does this fall under? Under Grace or Under Law?
"As your conscience has been quickened by the Holy Spirit, you have seen something of the evil of sin, of its power, its guilt, its woe; and you look upon it with abhorrence. You feel that sin has separated you from God, that you are in bondage to the power of evil. The more you struggle to escape, the more you realize your helplessness. Your motives are impure; your heart is unclean. You see that your life has been filled with selfishness and sin. You long to be forgiven, to be cleansed, to be set free. Harmony with God, likeness to Him--what can you do to obtain it?
It is peace that you need--Heaven's forgiveness and peace and love in the soul. Money cannot buy it, intellect cannot procure it, wisdom cannot attain to it; you can never hope, by your own efforts, to secure it. But God offers it to you as a gift, "without money and without price." Isaiah 55:1. It is yours if you will but reach out your hand and grasp it. The Lord says, "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18. "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you." Ezekiel 36:26". | | under grace | Read my poem and tell me, do you like it? Sleep and Dream
I scope the page,
And see the thing.
It is a beast; it's a living thing.
Because it breathes, it sleeps and dreams.
How does the spider sleep?
All day long in a dusty corner.
In attic hammocks and dusty eaves,
And her dream is of fly-fishing,
As her house comes apart.
How do the singing birds sleep at night?
With head ‘neath wing,
And they dream of soaring
Loftily,
On feathered wings,
Wings engineered
To withstand the wind.
And they dream of flying
To the mountaintop,
To the sun,
No parachute,
No rocket fuel,
No guns.
How does a dolphin sleep?
Wrapped in a cloak,
In a watery cloak,
And he dreams of making
Bigger bubbles tomorrow.
The reigning King of the Jungle,
In peril for
His royal stature,
Sleeps with one eye open.
Bugs sleep as if
They’re high on drugs,
Challenging the mountain,
Climbing step
By frantic step.
The thing is the beast
And the beast is Man.
How does a man sleep?
In bold mansions,
And in cowardly alleyways,
Upon gossamer down,
And on park benches.
In dreams of waking and walking
In fetal solipsism,
In feral hunger,
In reverent supplication,
In soft bondage,
In bliss and on bar tops,
Merged and melted,
Like freedom and gravity,
Kissed by the fire.
The clouds speak in tongues.
The snow whispers,
“Sleep, little ones, sleep and dream.”
The white whirlwind’s icy finger
Probes the frozen ground
Bringing the tiny cells
To the edge of irreversible doom.
Soft bosom peaks of snowflake incubation,
Wake the fertile seeds,
And like chrysalises,
With the Sparks of Creation,
Rescue them
From their dormancy. | | i like this a lot. |
